Many species, such as the neon goby (Elacatinus oceanops) or the shark-nose cleaner goby (E. evelynae), are diligent reef helpers. They pick off parasites from larger fish, thus providing an extra dose of hygiene in the tank. They look simply fantastic with their bright blue, golden yellow, or black and white stripes.
At 2–6 cm in size, they are a perfect fit for nano tanks of 50–60 liters or larger. Neon gobies are peaceful, easy to care for, and can be easily kept with other saltwater fish. All of our captive-bred nano gobies are robust and raised gently in an aquarium environment – so you don't have to buy wild-caught fish from sensitive reefs. They enjoy fine frozen foods like Mysis, Cyclops, or Artemia nauplii just as much as high-quality small dry food.
In conclusion: Whether as a cleaner goby or as a colorful eye-catcher, Elacatinus neon gobies bring life, utility, and charm to your reef aquarium. And yes, they're so cute that you'd easily forget they're fierce parasite hunters.
