It stimulates the microbiology in the aquarium and ensures the increased incorporation of nutrients into additional biomass. Nitrates and phosphates are gently reduced in this way, but also stabilized at a low level.

Signs of high nutrient levels

In addition to the measured phosphate and nitrate values, darkened corals or increased algae growth in the tank and on the panes indicate that nutrient values are too high. When assessing "too high", the ratio of nitrate to phosphate must also be taken into account. This should ideally be 100:1, for example 5 mg/l nitrate and 0.05 mg/l phosphate. An unfavorable ratio can often have a more negative effect than increased values in the correct ratio. Therefore, always assess the nutrient values in relation to one another and in connection with the appearance and behavior of your animals in the aquarium.

Instructions for use NP-Bacto-Balance

Ideally, dose the concentrate at the beginning of the lighting phase.
